...and we do mean interesting! Many web sites have links pages where there are too many links, few if any of which are worth a visit. We thought we'd try to do something a bit different. Here's some of the web sites that get our attention at Hollywood Camera. Click on the titles: the links all open in a new window so you can always get back here easily. Academy Award® Winning Cinematographers >> Quick, name an Academy Award winning cinematographer! In case you're stumped, this is an Oscar site where you can get the names - and the biographies - of all the winning cinematographers since 1927. Cinematography Mailing List (CML) >> A great resource for cinematographers, this site is full of the sort of detail that you might need as a client of HCI... for example, if you want to know more about a particular camera, try clicking on Film under the Camera Info dropdown menu. They describe themselves as the industry's one-stop production source, and that's about right. Try typing "cameras" into their searchfield... Library of Congress: Film Publications and Resource Guides >> This is a link to a page of links... but since it comes from the Library of Congress, you can expect a real treasure trove of material Check it out! Miracosta College: Film-Media Resources page >> A sort of A-Z of everything relating to film and media. This is a link to the Variety site. A great source of information about the business, there's always something that worth a bit of your time. Check out Film Production under the Charts menu, for example. |
